Composition and Property
The vaccine is colourless transparent liquid with preservative, conjugated purified Haemophilus b capsular polysaccharide with the tetanus toxoid.
Indications
The vaccine is indicated for infants from 3 months to 2 years of life for the prevention of invasive disease caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b including meningitis, pneumonia, sepsis and so on.
Administration and dosage
Intramuscular injection at upper arm after disinfection.
For infants from 3 months, a single dose(0.5 mL) is needed in every two or three months, a total of three times, and a booster dose at 18 months of life; For infants from 6 months to 12 months, a single dose(0.5 mL) is needed in every two or three months, twice together and a booster dose at 18 months of life; for 2-year-old children, only one dose(0.5 mL) is enough.
Adverse reactions
No any serious adverse reaction had been observed. Few people may have local pain, redness and swelling over the injection site and usually subside spontaneously within 72hrs. Skin rash may be noted occasionally and no specific treatment was needed. Relevant treatment may be given whenever needed.
Contraindications
(1)Fever or acute diseases, especially infectious disease or other serious illness.
(2)Known anaphylactic reaction to any vaccine composition, esp. the tetanus toxoid.
(3)Severe heart diease, hypertension, liver or renal disease.
(4)Only to infants and children, not recommended to the pregnant.
(5)Injection intramuscularly, not vascularly.
Precautions
(6)appropriate sway before use. The vaccine should not be used if it is found to have a crack in vial, or turbidity, or the presence of foreign body.
(7)Immunological deficiency disease or immunosuppressant treatment may weaken the immunoreaction.
(8)The vaccine can be coadministered with MMR、DTP and poliomyelitis vaccines but in different parts.
Storage
 The vaccine must be kept in dark place under 2~8℃(36~46℉). DO NOT FREEZE. Do not use beyond the expiration date stamped on the vial.
